PERSONAL REFLECTIONS FROM THE EDITOR
Dear Readers,
From the beginning of this peaceful trucker revolution, the elites mocked the truckers and their supporters. First, the elites didn't even bother to take note of the convoy; then the lies and insults began. According to the mainstream media, it was actually a small protest about road conditions, then it was only a small protest about mandates, then the truckers were simply misguided, albeit a larger group than first thought! Then the truckers were possibly or perhaps likely violent - and a large group; then of course, the truckers were Nazis and White Supremacists - including we suppose the truckers who are female, First Nation, Indo-Canadian, Caribbean, and beyond.
The Ottawa cocktail crowd weren't even smart enough to block off the roads in front of Parliament with 6 day's notice - assuming, we can only imagine, they thought instead, the truckers will simply leave once they receive a $40 parking ticket! (This after being discarded after a useless vaccine mandate). The truth is, the peaceful revolution shows the ruling class can't plan anything out - but they can talk, talk, talk.
Canada, after this is over, must heal itself in part by bringing more people from the working class into the political system again. It is clear that most of the Ottawa bubble are wealthy connected followers, who care little for the people they serve. For those old enough to remember, our parliaments used to have many different types of people reflecting many walks of life - fisherman, foreman, carpenters, even former truckers. Now it is mostly a filled with lackluster lawyers, and underemployed liberal arts majors who couldn't find other work.
The champagne toasting elites are entitled and smug, but also, completely unable to understand or conceptualize how to do "things". They don't know 'how things work'. They only know theories about how things and people should 'behave.' And as a result, they have been completely unable to win the media war against the truckers.
The truckers came prepared, with, of course, trucks, but also camping gear, shovels, food, medicine and other supplies - even bringing their kids along. Many will have sacrificed everything for us - we owe them our best efforts. They also know that the politicians serve US - we don't serve them.
When the truckers were wrongly accused of destroying statues, they cleaned and polished them, and set up their own security; when the truckers were accused of flying a racist flag, they found a high resolution image of the guy, and set up a 10K reward to identify him; when the truckers were accused of violence, they set up a bouncy castle for kids to play to show what was really going on around Parliament Hill; when the truckers were accused of stealing food, they set up a soup kitchen for the homeless. At every step, they have been ready and willing to confound the managerial class. The truckers are logistics and communication experts - they even know when the 6 riot buses are coming which are hiring drivers to arrive at the Hill on Thursday (Feb 10).
The elites lost the media war and embarrassed themselves; now they can only win through violence and brute force using the long arm of the state. We must fight on, but never forget that the truckers already won. They embraced the people and gave their individual stories light; they captured the world's attention and legitimized the worries of so many citizens across the world who just want to be left alone by their government.
